Inpatient Rehabilitation

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at Saint Francis could be the best place for you to recover from an illness or injury. You’ll find a warm, inviting atmosphere with spacious private rooms, beautiful common areas and therapy rooms conveniently located within the unit. You’ll meet our friendly staff and see first hand, their dedication to helping patients get past the hurdles of recovery and back to their lives. Best of all, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is close to home, where you can benefit from the support of your friends and family.

Located on the sixth floor of the Inpatient Tower, the 10-bed IRU offers care that focuses on improving a patient’s mobility and independence through physical, occupational and speech therapies. The IRU sees patients dealing with the physical effects of stroke, fractures, arthritis, cardiac surgery or neurological diseases like Parkinson’s disease.

The events that bring patients to the IRU change their lives forever. Because each person is unique, our team individualizes every patient’s care. We understand that each patient has individual needs and will progress at a different pace. Each patient’s treatment plan is different and designed to help that person improve all that they can to resume functional daily living.

Dr. Shane Burr, who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation serves as the director for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and is involved in the development of patient’s treatment plans and evaluates them throughout their progress.
