|Making Medical Decisions|
At Saint Francis we want you to understand your health care choices and make your own medical decisions. When you are awake and thinking clearly, you, yourself can tell your healthcare providers what treatment you want.
However there may be times when you are not able to speak for yourself. There are several ways you can still have your wishes followed if that should happen, including completing a document that describes how you wish to be treated and appointing someone you trust to serve as your advocate if you could not speak for yourself.
What’s very important is that you discuss your wishes with your loved ones, so they understand your wishes and can feel confident acting on your behalf.
