Jeff Dobbins of Grand Island was the grand prize winner at the ninth annual Ticket to Ride event, sponsored by the Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation. The winning tickets were drawn Thursday during an event supported by Tom Dinsdale Chevrolet Cadillac GMC. The selection of cars the grand-prize winner can choose from included A 2012 Chevy Cruze, 2012 GMC Terrain, 2012 GMC Colorado, 2012 Chevy Sonic, 2012 Hyundai Sonata and 2012 Hyundai Elantra or $15,000 in cash.

Eight additional winners will receive prizes worth $500. The winners and prizes included:

• Beth Bartlett and Deb Wilson of Grand Island and Rhonda Spiehs of Doniphan , $500 Visa cards donated by Five Points Bank.
• Morgan Henn of Phillips, a $500 Visa card donated by The Midland Group.
• Anne McCoy of Grand Island, a $500 Visa card donated by Arby’s of Grand Island.
• Becky Otto of Phillips, a $500 Visa card donated by O’Connor Enterprises, Inc.
• Kevin Jorgensen of St. Paul, a $500 Visa card donated by H&H Distributing.
• Michelle Kneale of Grand Island, a $500 gas card donated by Tom and Sue Pirnie.
• Donna Sanders of Marquette, a $500 gift card to Super Saver donated by Super Saver.

This year’s fundraiser sold 706 tickets. All proceeds from this year’s event helped raise funds for the purchase of infusion chairs designed to help keep patients comfortable during long chemotherapy sessions. The chairs will allow the patient to lie flat, if they so desire, and contain several other features, including a DVD player and ports to plug in a computer or iPad, to help time pass more quickly.
