Saint Francis Medical Center Intensive Care Unit offers patients the expertise of critical care registered nurses and a complement of physicians specializing in caring for patients with complex medical conditions. Patients in ICU require constant observation and intensive nursing care. Many of the patients in our ICU need heart care, stroke care or have respiratory conditions. The Progressive Care Unit is often a stepping stone between the ICU and the medical or surgical care received on the other floors of the hospital. Patients in Progressive care are less critical than those in ICU, but still have complex needs and require more comprehensive care and monitoring. |
