Pain Management
Alfred Lonser, MD, has been at Saint Francis Medical Center since October 2008, specializing in anesthesiology and pain management.
Dr. Lonser practices the full range of pain medicine including interventional and non-interventional techniques. New techniques he does includes spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pump implants.
The management of chronic or acute pain often requires a team approach including the patient, the primary care physician, the pain physician, and other specialists.
Referral is advised when pain becomes beyond that point which the primary care physician and patient feel comfortable managing themselves and feel that a team approach is indicated. Underlying disease is ideally worked up by the primary team and/or other specialist referrals.
Dr. Lonser completed different aspects of his educational (medical school, residency, and fellowship) and work career in Maryland, Virginia, California and Alaska. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA.
